JVC Launch New Video Camera

The new JVC GY-HM700 has been developed for mainstream video production, electronic news gathering and cinematography.

The GY-HM700 records directly to inexpensive SDHC memory cards using the quicktime codec, so targeting Final Cut Pro users.
The video camera has two SDHC memory card slots which can hold a maximum of 64GB. It also has the option to record to SxS media using the dockable KA-MR100 media recorder, which is compatible with Sony’s XDCAM EX format.

By recording video which uses the editing systems native codec, the post production workflow is dramatically speeded up as there is no need to transcode or rewrap files. File transfer to the edit system is faster than reel time or you can edit directly from the memory cards.

The Camera comes with a standard, detachable HD lens by Cannon and uses a standard bayonet mount so users can use any of the lenses available from JVC, or use the prime lens adapter also available from JVC.
